I have been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember.
Since retiring from teaching I have been able to pursue my creative instincts and have worked hard to develop my style inspired by the many artists I have been lucky enough to encounter.
I am passionate about watercolour; the character and the unpredictability of it, adds to the excitement I feel. I like to paint buildings and landscapes and frequently a combination of both.
I walk a lot and always carry a sketch book to capture a moment, a view or whatever catches my eye. I also love to paint ‘en plein air’ and regularly paint with the Surrey Hills Plein Air Painters. When not out and about, I paint in my studio at home, often referring to my sketch books for inspiration.
I am a member of Molesey Art Society and the Society of Fulham Artists and exhibit with both and have had several solo exhibitions with another planned for March 2024.
I also do commissioned work and teach small groups in my home. 178
