Deborah is an artist and maker working with a wide variety of materials across different creative genres.
An initial degree in textiles from Leeds University and a career as a qualitative market researcher specialising in branding and FMCG packaging design informed her critical and analytical eye. Eventually the pull towards being a creator rather than a critic led her to graduating with distinction from the masters degree course, Drawing as Process, at Kingston University.
Deborah’s enthusiasm for colour, pattern and form as well as story and atmosphere has led her to work on big scale film/TV projects (art direction/set design/prop and set building etc) through to individual privately commissioned paintings. All are executed with passion and attention to detail.
Her recent paintings are primarily in oil with a particular focus on closely observed still life images and domestic scenes.
Deborah has exhibited in group shows at The Bankside Gallery, London; RK Burt Gallery, London and the Stanley Picker Gallery in Kingston. Her paintings can be found in private collections in Britain, Europe and Australia.
