Kate Fletcher is an emerging watercolourist.
She started work in 2014, and her work is vibrant, colourful depictions of the natural beauty of flowers and fruits. She has shown her work at Sherwood Art Week 2014, the Liberal Synagogue 2016, St Barnabas Cathedral 2018, Bromley House Library 2020, and the Society of Artists 2020, in her home city, Nottingham.
In 2021, she showed her work at the Fountain Gallery in East Molesey, and in 2022 her work was at AppArt in Godalming and Sussex Art Fair at Goodwood Racecourse.
Kate draws and paints natural subjects from life, and using photographs and digital tools. The end product is always a watercolour on paper. She focuses on a single subject, as large as life, or bigger, in order to study it and therefore to see it properly.
She keeps a daily sketchbook as a discipline, and runs a weekly still-life group. She started a weekly urban sketching group in 2021, to help herself and other local artists to emerge psychologically from the Covid-19 lockdowns, and was surprised to discover how much fun it was.
Kate is a founder member of the Nottingham collective of emerging artists, Does My Art Look Big in This? (Check them out on Facebook!). Her work can be seen online at https://linktr.ee/KateFletcherPaintings Instagram: kate_fletcher_paintings Facebook: Kate Fletcher Paintings
