Brilliant light and vibrant colours were the main reasons that I felt compelled to take up a paintbrush. A love of Monet, Matisse and the Scottish Colourists also played a huge role. It was many years later, while living in Greece, that i felt inspired to experiment with colourful paintings of sea and sky, as well as other elements of nature, including the array of wild flowers in spring. I work mostly in oil, acrylic and watercolour.
Later, I followed a series of art courses at Richmond College and a course at The Slade School of Art. I have exhibited at
The Cross Arts Centre, Twickenham
Kew Art Studio where I spent some years as an artist in residence
The Fountain Gallery
Landmark Art Centre
The Museum, Alonissos, Greece
My work is held by collectors throughout the UK and Ireland, Greece and Norway. Several of my works currently hang in The West Middlesex Hospital in Isleworth.
