Starting as an untrained artist some years ago, it has taken practise and perseverance to achieve my goal as an artist. I am continually learning and improving my skills.
The process of starting a painting usually begins with a sketchbook, pencils and camera. I enjoy walking in nature and continue to experiment with ideas in my studio where I use watercolour, gouache, acrylic and oil paint. I am particularly drawn to remote and rugged coastlines, recording sky, sea and landscapes in multiple hues. Colour is an essential element of my painting. I like to combine the vibrancy of colours with the serenity of seascapes and landscapes. Through the brushstroke my aim is to transport the viewer to a picturesque destination.
My work is mostly by commission. I have however exhibited at several venues such as Landmark, Teddington, Strawberry Hill House and several other exhibitions in this country and abroad.
