Nicky Browne

Printmaker

Nicky is an enthusiastic sketcher and printmaker. She enjoyed two recent residences: one in Italy and the other sketching (in winter) on the building site renovations to Richmond Observatory. She also specialises in lino and woodcutting and teaches etching. She makes artists' books and cards, printing them herself directly from drawings and prints.

She generally works thematically. Recent ones have included: Hampton Court, monkeypuzzle trees, local libraries, pubs and teashops, The River Thames and Bridges over the Thames. Drawing Romanesque and Baroque churches is also a passion.

Nicky organises an annual Gallery Drawing Week and is involved in Urban Sketchers London. She is a qualified teacher and has two MAs, including one in Illustration and Animation. She exhibits in group and solo shows in the South of England and local Open Studios.
